Doing good work in the community is the main concern for Marietta First Christian Church. We have a large variety of ministries to help those in need and that make a true difference in the community. Whether you need help or want to volunteer, contact us. See each ministry below for specific contact details. Together we can make a difference.
"Even as you do unto the least of these, my brethren, you do it unto me." Mathew 25:40
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) operates a large food pantry serving Cobb County Georgia, directed by Sherwood Smith. In the past 12 years under his direction, the food pantry has given out an amazing 2 million pounds of food to those in need. Featured in the Marietta Daily Journal and on Atlanta TV Channel 46 (CBS), the Disciples Mission Food Pantry is a place where families in Marietta and throughout Cobb County come when they have nowhere else to turn.
If you are a resident of Cobb County that needs food, please come see us on Saturday or Monday (9:00 am to 12:00 pm), bring a picture id, your social security number, and the social security numbers of any other members of your household that will benefit from the food. We will help you.
The Food Pantry is open on Monday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We are always looking for volunteer help especially since the need for our service has risen so much in the last few months. Contact the church to volunteer or make donations. You may email or call 770-428-3125.
The contributions of food go to help approximately 600 families per month. A staff of 22 shops for food, stocks the storerooms, picks up contributed breads and sweets, repacks foods, prepares frozen food bags, registers clients, keeps records, and assists clients. Other volunteers stuff grocery bags Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. For more information or to get involved, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 770-428-3125.

Our youth program is undergoing dramatic changes now. We are creating a dynamic, contemporary program that will speak to today's youth. Our goal is to give young adults (6th grade through 12th grade) a safe Christian environment to explore their faith and develop fellowship. The youth participate in the planning of activities. Previous activities have included a Christian Music Concert at Stone Mountain, a water balloon fight, and an afternoon of Pictionary.
Marietta First Christian Church is always seeking more members for our youth group. All are welcome!
The healing service provides a special opportunity for people to offer their brokenness and woundedness to God and to invite God as the source of all healing to work through and within them and others to bring wholeness.
Lead by Rev. Donna Kremer and Rev. Chris Goss, the service offers a safe setting for individual or corporate prayer. It is a gathering of compassionate people seeking to share the love of God that strengthens us all. Together we are the comforters and the comforted.
The healing service can be a time to talk, pray, laugh, cry, share burdens, and seek forgiveness in a quest for physical, emotional, and/or spiritual wholeness. Those who come to the service may simply sit quietly in private, personal prayer and meditation. Individuals may choose to approach a leader or the team for corporate prayer and the laying of hands and/or seek communion.
We offer recorded music, corporate prayer, scriptural reading, and ritual to aid the healing experience. We believe that God, in God's infinite wisdom and mercy calls us all to wholeness. We strive to be "rays of God's Son" working together to taste of that wholeness.
